Colt Starting & restarts

Kip likes to say he rides colts for a living. While he does specialize in starting young horses, he also re-starts many middle-aged and problem horses. Kip has found that getting the horses outside is key to their education and overall development.

Kip guarantees that the horses he works with will walk, trot, and lope on a loose rein and on the bit. They’ll have a solid foundation in lateral work and be progressing to more advanced maneuvers. The horses will become accustomed to having a rope swung from their back, riding with a flag, and dragging a log. They’ll also learn to open and close gates.
